DESCRIPTION:
WW - A. Lange & Söhne B-Uhr World War II oversized flight watch, issued to the German Luftwaffe, manual wind, 55mm in diameter, 26.5mm wire lug width, original Parkerized steel snap back case which has had its bottom lugs cut off and converted into a pocket watch, sewed on leather strap with button hole cutout, original black dial with oversized minute track along the perimeter and Arabic hour indices around the center, 22J, gilt sweep-seconds mvt signed "A. Lange & Söhne," s#2121731, triple signed. An interesting piece which shows how some of these watches were treated by vets after returning from WW2.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, light oxide to steelwork as well as discoloration and spotting of plates; excellent dial with light surface spotting; original radium kite-shaped luminous hands, missing luminous material to minute hand; case shows light wear save for the missing lugs at 6, still retains some of its original lacquer coating; original crown shows very little wear; good plastic crystal.
